Daniel A. “Danny” Zancha, 64, of Greensburg, died unexpectedly Friday, August 29, 2025. Born on August 21, 1961, to the late Eugene “Hawk” and Betty (Neville) Zancha. Danny grew up in Greensburg with a spirit as big as his laugh. A graduate of Hempfield High School, Class of 1979, he carried his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive into his role as President of his family-owned company, Zancha & Associates, where he led with both grit and heart. Danny’s greatest pride was his family. He was the proud father of Andrea (Steve) de Groot, Holli (Jay) Majitov, and Christopher (Carly) Zancha, and “G-Pa” to his four grandchildren—Viktor, Brooke, Arie, and Sofia. Danny was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and David Zancha. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he is survived by his loving sisters, Diane (Edward) Sapone and Sharon Lowery, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his humor, his kindness, and his unwavering loyalty. A true Pittsburgh sports fanatic, Danny bled black and gold. He rarely missed a Steelers or Pirates game, and if you saw him, chances are he was decked out in his team’s colors, passionately coaching from his recliner. His other happy place was the beach—especially Topsail Island, North Carolina—where countless summer memories were made with the people he loved most. Danny lived life with enthusiasm, generosity, and heart. To know him was to be welcomed with a smile, a story, and maybe even a plate of food. His legacy is one of family, laughter, and love that will carry on in all who were lucky enough to know him. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Please go directly to the church. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg is assisting with arrangements. www.bachafh.com
